i-CABLE Donates Pay TV Service to the Hong Kong Children’s Hospital to Support Patients’ Needs
i-CABLE Communications Limited (i-CABLE) (stock code: 1097) announced its donation of subscription service for six TV channels to the Hong Kong Children’s Hospital (HKCH) along with TV receivers and installation. Patients and their family members can watch Cable News, four children channels and Hong Kong Open TV in the hospital for free.
The donation demonstrates how i-CABLE capitalises on its resources in contributing to the community, with users’ needs in mind. Mr Patrick Tsang On-yip, i-CABLE Vice-chairman and Executive Director, said, “Hospitalised children and their families suffering from different conditions require support in various aspects. We hope our quality TV programmes could bring joy and positivity, and support them in their fight against diseases.”
HKCH Hospital Chief Executive Dr Lee Tsz-leung expresses gratitude to i-CABLE for its generous donation. He said, “HKCH has always strived to create a children-centred and family-friendly environment for a better patient experience. Suitable TV programmes could help our patients and families divert attention and relieve stress throughout the treatment journey, especially for those treated under isolation during the epidemic.”
Installation of the donated receivers was completed in late February. The donation also includes subscriptions to Cable News, four children channels (i.e. Nick Jr., Da Vinci, Boomerang and Cartoon Network) and Hong Kong Open TV via Multichannel Multipoint Distribution Service (MMDS). Inpatients, outpatients and their family members can enjoy the programmes for free at various locations such as wards, specialist outpatient clinic and the hospital lobby
