Mr. Tsang On-yip, Patrick, said it is honouredfor acquiring the exclusive broadcast rights for the Asian Games for the 7th year in a row. TheHangzhou Asian Games will be broadcasted across 3 free TV channels, with HOY TVproviding live broadcasting for over 12 hoursstarting from 9am daily. Hong Kong Breakdancing Representative B-Boy C Plus Shows Offhis Moves
A number of new sports categories, including baseball,softball, karate, sport climbing, e-sports and breakdancing, which will rise tothe world stage for the first time at the Paris Olympic Games 2024, areincluded in the 19thAsian Games Hangzhou. Hong KongBreakdancing Representative B-Boy C Plus, who ranked top 32 at the WDSFBreakdancing World Series – a Hong Kong record was invited to perform with histeammates during the inauguration ceremony. They were met with a standingovation at the event. B-BoyC Plus, currently ranked 62nd in the world, will soon represent HongKong in the Asian Games’ Breakdancing Competition. He shared his goals andoutlook for the event and said, “I am really looking forward to the AsianGames, which has offered us break-dancers a great opportunity to bring ourskills to the world by adding in a new category this year. We are preparing forthe Asian Games every day and hope to win medals with your support.”

The ceremony was graced by numerous esteemed athletes, including:Mr. Wong Kam-po, HongKong cycling legend; Ms. Ceci Lee Sze Wing, Hong Kong Cycling athlete; Ms.Leung Po Sum, Hong Kong Judo athlete; Ms. Yue Nga Yan Tiffany, Hong Kong trackand field athlete; Mr. Oscar Coggins & Ms. Hilda Choi Yan Yin, Hong Kongtriathlon athletes, who shared with the audience their competition experienceand words of encouragement to Hong Kong athletes. To ensure audiences stay abreast of the Hangzhou Asian Games,i-CABLE will live broadcast the event on HOY TV for over 12 hours startingfrom 9am daily, and HKIBC for 3 consecutive hours starting from 3pm daily. The 19th Asian Games Hangzhou will gather the region’s elite athletes in Hangzhou, fromSeptember 23 to October 8, 2023, where they will compete for 483 gold medalsacross 40 major and 61 sub-events over the course of 15 days. The SportsFederation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China predicts to send 860-plusHong Kong athletes to the event, a record highsince Hong Kong first joined theAsian Games in 1954. These athletes will join events such as swimming,football, field hockey, baseball, basketball, rugby, water sports, dragon boat,fencing, e-sports, cycling, gymnastics and karate, to name but a few.
