i-CABLE Communications Limited is pleased to announce that its subsidiary, Hong Kong Cable News Express Limited (HKCNE), is awarded the contract of exclusive commercial airtime sales distributor and content provider for MTR Corporation Limited¡¦s (MTR Corporation) MTR In-train TV from 1 January 2019 to 31 December 2023. The services will be further expanded to the Island Line*, Tsuen Wan Line*, Tseung Kwan O Line*, as well as the future Shatin to Central Link, on top of the five lines currently covered. HKCNE will continue to provide exciting contents, including local and international news, financial news, sports news, entertainment news and infotainment, to passengers throughout the day.
HKCNE first became the exclusive commercial airtime sales distributor and content provider for MTR trains in 2005. For the past 13 years, it has provided passengers with a wide variety of contents. Currently, HKCNE provides passengers on five MTR lines: the East Rail Line, West Rail Line, Ma On Shan Line, Kwun Tong Line* and South Island Line with content from top news programmes through over 5,000 LCD screens installed in MTR trains. Teams from HKCNE and MTR have been continuously working in close collaboration on system operation and maintenance to ensure that passengers enjoy the best possible experience. This close rapport will only deepen as the services expand to other MTR lines.
