CABLE TV and HKOTV Join Forces for the Exclusive Coverage of FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League

i-CABLE Group, the official broadcaster of FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League 2019, announced today that both CABLE TV and Hong Kong Open TV will deliver the live matches of Team China in FIVB Volleyball Nations League Hong Kong 2019. The event was officiated by Ms Irene Leung, Chief Operating Officer of i-CABLE Communications Limited, Mr Chik Wai Cheong, Controller of Programme and Production of i-CABLE Sports, Mr Ho Chung Ho, Executive Chairperson of FIVB Volleyball Nations League Organizing Committee, Ms Suzanne Tong, General Manager of Marketing, Chine Life Insurance (Overseas) Company Limited, and Ms Sun Yue, Former Member of the China Women's National Volleyball Team.


Ms Irene Leung, Chief Operating Officer of i-CABLE Communications Limited, said, "with ample experience of i-CABLE Sports in the production and live broadcast of large-scale international sports events, we are honoured to be the official broadcaster of FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League in Hong Kong for the second consecutive year, while we would like to express our gratitude to the support of China Life Insurance. The four teams playing at Hong Kong Stop are top-tiered ones ranking amongst the top six in the tournament. Team China, which has been receiving enthusiastic support from Hong Kong people, is also one of the participating teams. CABLE TV will broadcast all matches of the tournament, from 21 May to 7 July, while Hong Kong Open TV (free TV Ch.77) will broadcast all matches of Hong Kong Stop. The matches will be presented by hosts of i-CABLE Sports with analysis of subject experts of the event, bringing Hong Kong audience this international sports event."

Live Matches of Hong Kong Stop Solely on i-CABLE Group Platforms

CABLE TV will deliver highlighted live matches to be held from 21 May to 20 June on CABLE Sports 2 Channel (HD 602/ SD 662). All matches of Team China competing with Team Japan, Netherlands and Italy to be held in Hong Kong Coliseum from 4 to 6 June will be available live on CABLE TV and Hong Kong Open TV (free TV Ch.77).


i-CABLE Sports forms a team of professional commentator with Mr Ng Kam Chi, Former Head Coach of Hong Kong National Men's Volleyball Team, Mr Li Hoi Kwong, Former Leader of Hong Kong National Men's Volleyball Team, Mr Chui Ka Nok, Former Member of Hong Kong National Men's Volleyball Team and Ms Sonia Kong, Member of Hong Kong Women Beach Volleyball Team.


Four National Volleyball Teams Fight for Qualification to Nanjing Finals

The four participating teams are playing a total of six matches in Hong Kong Stop. Team China ranks World Number Two; Team Japan (World Number Six) won the first runner-up in FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix 2014; Team Netherlands (World Number Seven) won the third runner-up in FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League 2018; and Team Italy (World Number Eight) won the first runner-up in FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League 2018. There are sixteen teams competing in a Preliminary Round over five weeks in a total of twenty pools of four teams each in the FIVB Volleyball Nations League Hong Kong 2019, and the top five teams at the end of the Preliminary Round will join the hosts for the Finals. Teams in the Finals will be placed in two pools of three teams each, with the top two of each pool advancing to semifinals followed by the medals matches.
