Prof. HU Shao Ming Herman (“Prof. Hu”), B.Sc., FCIBSE, FHKIE, MIEEE, C. Eng., has been an independent non-executive Director since April 2012. He is also the chairman of the Nomination Committee, and a member of each of the Nomination Committee, Audit Committee and Compensation Committee.

He is the chairman of Ryoden Development Limited. Prof. Hu has been re-elected as a Deputy to the 14th National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China. He is the vice-chairman of The Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong. He is also a general committee member and chairman of Mainland China Committee of the Employers’ Federation of Hong Kong, the Vice-President of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, an Honorary Court Member of The Hong Kong University of Science & Technology, a member of the Election Committee of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Vice Patron of The Community Chest of Hong Kong. He was awarded the Honour of Silver Bauhinia Star (SBS) and Gold Bauhinia Star (GBS) by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China on 30 June 2017 and 1 July 2023 respectively.
